The Waffle

The Liege waffle is a denser, sweeter, richer and chewier waffle, invented in the city of Liege, Belgium. The deliciousness of the Liege waffle comes from when Pearl Sugar is placed in the dough and caramelizes over the waffle when baked. The Liege waffle dates back to the 18th century and is smaller then an ordinary waffle, it is a hand-held size that is perfect for skiers to eat while waiting on a lift line or on the actual lift. The waffle is square patterned with a crispy outer layer and soft on the inside.
